About
The Journey of USDPL
In 2017, USDPL was established to promote traditional handloom weaving and empower rural artisans in India, recognizing the importance of preserving cultural heritage and supporting local communities.
Initially, they collaborated with various artisans and explored natural fibres, creating captivating textiles and designs that gained attention from large retailers and designers.
However, when the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the textile industry, leaving artisans with unsold stock, Umang Shridhar Designs Pvt Ltd had to adapt quickly
They shifted their focus to empower artisans through digital platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Business, also providing digital literacy training. Collaborations with organizations like NABARD, the Sidhi district administration, Concern India Foundation, and NASSCOM Foundation further supported this transition.
Recognizing the need for capacity building, they partnered with these organizations to train artisans in entrepreneurship and customer connections. This effort not only provided skilled employment but also empowered artisans to become entrepreneurs, creating a brighter future for their communities.
Today, Umang Shridhar Designs Pvt Ltd stands as a beacon of hope, promoting traditional craftsmanship, sustainability, and social entrepreneurship through innovation and adaptabili
